With over 25 years of experience in photojournalism, I have dedicated my career to capturing the world through my lens. Since joining The ASAHI Shimbun newspaper company in April 1996, I have served as a photographer, reporter, and videographer, contributing to both the newspaper and its website.
My specialization in sports photography and robotics has allowed me to document some of the most thrilling and technologically advanced moments in recent history. Throughout my career, I have been stationed at various locations, including the Hiroshima Bureau, Tokyo Headquarter, Fukuoka Office, and currently, the Osaka Bureau.
My experience also includes an international stint at the Korean newspaper company 'Donga Ilbo,' where I covered the Japan-Korea World Cup Soccer. Additionally, I have had the privilege of covering multiple Olympic Games, from Athens in 2004 to Paris in 2024, as well as numerous world championships in athletics and swimming.
Beyond sports, my assignments have taken me to cover significant political events, including the Japanese Prime Minister and Government in 2012-2013. My work has also extended to photo editing, a role I have embraced since 2013, allowing me to mentor and guide fellow photographers.
My portfolio is a testament to my diverse experiences and unwavering commitment to photojournalism. I invite you to explore the stories behind each image, reflecting the dynamic and ever-evolving world we live in.
